A sunlit sphere without temperature equalization will have an average temperature of -128 °C. Ocean, soil and atmosphere (with greenhouse gasses), the 'geotriad', make this +12 °C. (The same sphere with full temperature equalization would average -18 °C.) It is not well enough known which part of the temperature gap is accounted for by which triad element.
