David Wojick, Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow, CFACT, Washington, D.C., Ph.D. Philosophy of Science and Mathematical Logic, B.Sc. Civil Engineering: The No-Truth advertising of wind energy never stops until one day when disaster will strike and destroy whole wind farms. Cost to construct is only one aspect of the whole story that must be valid for hundreds of years through everything that Mother Nature throws at us and so easily destroys a lot of what we build. Wind farms will be one of the first things to go.
No-Truth, Half-Truths, and Whole-Truth about global energy planning (Jon Boone, John Shanahan) USofA30.Mar.2019
Jon Boone, naturalist, environmentalist, bird expert and artist, wind energy expert and John Shanahan, civil engineer advocate for sound energy planning worldwide: In many countries, energy planning for generation of electricity is a mixed process consisting of No-Truths and Half-Truths promoted by special interest groups of all kinds. For the world to advance as best as possible it would be good to deal simply with Whole-Truths about fossil fuels, hydro-electric and nuclear energy. Similar issues apply to energy for all uses besides electricity. That will be discussed in a separate essay.
Viv Forbes, Executive Director of The Saltbush Club, Australia: The Great Generation created our present world and left many useful assets as their monuments. The Green Generation is destroying our future. The way things are heading, the lasting monuments to the Green Generation will be the skeletons of abandoned solar “farms” overgrown by lantana scrub, the concrete foundations of bankrupt wind “farms”, and spider-webs of useless sagging transmission lines and towers.
John Shanahan is a civil engineer and past president of Go Nuclear, Inc. and Environmentalists for Nuclear - USA: There is a titanic struggle over the topic of man-made global warming and man-made sea level rise. The struggle exists on five levels: a) among scientists who have a good knowledge of physics and chemistry related to carbon dioxide from fossil fuels and its role in the entire subject of atmospheric, ocean and land sciences, b) among politicians, c) among people who are determined to save the world from fossil fuels and man-made carbon dioxide, no matter the effects on humanity, d) among other scientists and engineers who claim to have the answers, d) among the public who have very little to no knowledge of atmospheric science, but nevertheless are sure they know the correct answers. A second important topic relates to advocates for nuclear energy who claim to have the answers. If they are wrong about man-made global warming, how can they be trusted with information about nuclear energy. The absolute truth will only come from nature in time. The question is, "How many big mistakes will humans make on this topic before the truth is fully known?
